In this episode I open up the brand new iPod touch (6th generation), new from Apple. The new iPod touch features the Apple A8 processor, which is the same 64-bit chip found in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, while maintaining the 4-inch Retina display. This brings the iPod touch out of the virtual stone age that it was in, making it a modern iOS device with 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 (a first for any Apple device), and 1GB RAM. Join me as I open up the package in this episode of Unboxing Live, and give you a full overview of the device!

You can pick up the iPod touch 6th gen now.

Cheap handheld camcorders seem to be all the rage these days, so it’s rare that we focus on them unless they have some sort of standout feature set. Heck, the records 720p H.264 video itself. Today, we are focusing on the DXG USA A80V handheld camcorder because we think it has a few features that set it apart from the pack.

The A80V is a 1080p camcorder that records at 30 fps, 1080i at 60fps, and 720p at 60fps. All videos are recorded in H.264 MOV file format, which is perfect for pulling directly off the camcorder and viewing/editing immediately. A lot of similar cameras require a transcode before you can view or play with the files. It’s got a 10 megapixel CMOS sensor, 5x optical zoom, 10x digital zoom, 3-inch touch display, and even an HDMI output (with HDMI cable included.)

You can get the DXG USA A80V for $239 on Amazon.

That’s right, y’all. It’s day, and Microsoft’s newest portable PMP is ready to make its debut. Of course, we’ve got your hook-up, and have put together an unboxing gallery looking at the Zune HD, as well as everything else in the box. We must say, we were definitely stoked about this. For gadget lovers and lusters, the Zune HD is an adrenaline rush, what with its thin profile and gorgeous screen. Be sure to check out the full Zune HD unboxing gallery for all the goods.

We will of course have a Zune HD review coming for you as well, but since Microsoft opted to give us review units that wouldn’t work until the software update was available, that’ll have to wait a bit. We don’t wanna go singing the praises of (or totally trashing) a device until we’ve had some legitimate time to play with it while fully functional, thank you very much. But hey, if you like the pictures, then be sure to also check out our Zune HD size comparison gallery as well.

The Turbo.264 HD is a hardware video encoding stick that seems to support just about every video format under the sun, and can convert that video for use on various devices, in high definition, much faster than your Mac can do that on it’s own. We open the item up in this episode of Unboxing Live!, and whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone who works with video, or even transcodes video for use on their or other portable device.

Continuing our look at pocket HD camcorders, we were able to get our hands on a new Kodak Zi6 Pocket Video Camera, which shoots in 720p high definition, at a full 60 frames per second. In case you were wondering, that’s unique for ultra-portable HD camcorders. There isn’t much storage space on-board, but that is rectified by the SD card slot, which supports up for a 32 GB SD card. The Kodak Zi6 also includes an SD AV cable, as well as an HD cable, allowing you to plug the camera directly into an to view the content on it. It takes two AA batteries, and they throw in two rechargeable AAs, as well a charger. We’ve taken a bunch of images of the device, which you can find in our Kodak Zi6 gallery. If you are interested in picking on up, here’s a Kodak Zi6 coupon link, where Kodak is offering $30 off. Not bad.
